       The State of Maryland Prince Georges County Sc.t

             I hereby certify that the Bearer hereof
       a Black Man by the name of Marlborough
       about forty two years of age about
       five feet five inches high and having
       a scar on his left Eye brow is a
       free man being manumitted by Thomas
       C. Wilcoxen by deed bearing date
       the twenty ninth day of December
       eighteen hundred and eighteen and
       recorded in Prince Georges County
       Court

                   Given under my hand
                   and seal of Office this
                   19.th day of January 1819
