109 left side of his neck is a free man and became entitled to his freedom by a deed of manumission bearing date the twenty second day of January eighteen hundred and nineteen from Richard D Hall and duly recorded in my office In testimony whereof I hereto subscribe my name and (seal) affix the Seal of Prince Georges County Court this 17.th day of May 1819 Aquila Beall Clk I hereby certify that the bearer hereof a negro Girl of dark complexion about 5 feet 3 inches high no visible scars about 21 years of age who calls herself Jane Dodson is the free & reputed Daughter of John Dodson & Marjary his wife free people of colour and was raised in P. G. County by her Father & mother & consequently came by her freedom by birth In Testimony & certificate granted 7.th June 1819 |
