           I hereby certify that the Bearer hereof
       a Black man by the name of
       Erasmus Gray about five feet six
       or seven inches high about twenty
       two years of age and without any
       distinguishing mark is a free man
       being the son of Catharine Gray Jun

             In Testimony whereof I have
             hereto subscribed my name
             and affixed the seal of
