111 Maryland Prince Georges County sc.t I hereby certify that the bearer hereof a negro man who Calls himself William Patterson or Batson five feet six inches high of a very black complexion a Scar on the left side of the left eye and a small one on the left side of the upper lip and a scar on the left thumb was born of a free woman of colour in Prince Georges County was bound by two Justices of the peace of said County on the first of July 1808 to Thomas Richardson and learnt the blacksmiths business the said William Patterson or Batson was free on the 15.th day of August 1814 In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my (seal) hand and the seal of my office this 31.st day of July anno Domini 1819 Aquil Beall Clk of P.
