       Maryland Prince Georges County sct

           I hereby certify that I have received satisfactory
       evidence that the bearer hereof a Black man
       who calls himself Samuel Mathews about
       thirty six years of age about five feet six
       inches high and has a speck in his left
       eye is the son of suck who was manumitted
       by Samuel Snowden and Recorded among
       the Land Records of Prince Georges County
       that he was free born and is the identical
       son of suck and was born and raised in
       Prince Georges County is a free man

          In testimony and so forth
       certificate granted 21.st day of oct.r 1819

                               of P G County Court
