               I hereby certify that the bearer
       hereof Peter a Black man about
       twenty five years of age about
       five feet three Inches high
       having a large scar on the
       back of his left hand & one on the
       right side of his Breast and
       thick lips is a free man and
       became entitled to his freedom
       by virtue of a Deed of manumission
       from Nathaniel Craufurd bearing
       date the thirteenth day of November
       1797 & recorded in Liber J R M N.o
       5 pages 542 & 543 one of the land
       records of said County

                In testimony &c     A Beall clk
       certificate granted Nov.r 13 1819
