       Maryland Prince Georges County sc.t

            I hereby certify that the bearer hereof a
       mulatto man by the name of Nathan Waring
       about thirty one years of age five feet three
       and an half inches high having several scars
       on his forehead and one on his right arm is a
       free man and became entitled to his Freedom
       by a Deed of Manumission bearing date the
       thirty first day of August in the year Eighteen
       hundred and Eighteen (being the day of
       the date of this Instrument of Writing) duly
       executed and acknowledged by Anne Berry
       which has been duly received and is to
       be recorded among the Records of my
       Office

                         In Testimony whereof I do hereunto
                   subscribe my name and affix the seal of
       (seal)    the County Court of the County aforesaid
                    this thirty first day of April in the
                    year of our Lord one thousand Eight
                    hundred and Eighteen
