(v) The amount of the fine assessed;
(vi) The manner, location, and time in which
the fine may be paid to the issuing jurisdiction; and
(vii) The person's right to elect to stand
trial for the infraction.
(2) The form of the citation issued under this
section should be uniform throughout the State and shall be as
prescribed by the District Court.
(3) The chief judge of the District Court may
establish a schedule for the prepayment of fines, which may not
exceed IS NOT LESS THAN $100 NOR MORE THAN [$100] $150 $500. A
fine is payable by the recipient of the citation to the issuing
jurisdiction in which the offense occurred within 20 calendar
days of receipt of the citation.
(4) If an individual elects to stand trial, a fine
not to exceed NOT LESS THAN $100 NOR MORE THAN [$100] $150 $500
may be imposed for each conviction of a Code violation. A repeat
offender may be assessed a fine not exceeding [$200] $300 for
each conviction of a Code violation.
(f) [If a person] IF A PERSON ELECTS TO STAND TRIAL AND is
found by the District Court to have committed a Code violation,
that person shall be required to pay a fine in an amount not to
exceed NOT LESS THAT $100 NOR MORE THAN [$100] $150 $500, or in
the event that the violation is a repeat offense, [$200] $300.
The person shall be liable for the costs of the proceedings in
the District Court.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1987.
