Ch. 3

THE SEAL SHALL:

(1)  BE OF A DESIGN DETERMINED BY THE BOARD; AND

(2)  INCLUDE:

(I)  THE LEGEND "PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER"; AND

(II)  THE NAME OF THE PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER WHO
HOLDS THE SEAL.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from the first sentence of
former Art. 75 1/2, § 15(c).

In subsection (a) of this section, the phrase "for use
as required under § 14-403 of this subtitle" is added
for clarity.

The second sentence of former Art. 75 1/2, § 15(c),
which provided the seal "is for the personal use of
the professional engineer only", is deleted as
unnecessary in light of the criminal penalties for use
of the seal of another. See § 14-504 of this title.

14-403. ENDORSEMENT OF DOCUMENTS.

(A)  IN GENERAL.

BEFORE A PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER ISSUES TO A CLIENT OR SUBMITS
TO A PUBLIC AUTHORITY ANY PLAN, SPECIFICATION, OR REPORT, THE
PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER WHO PREPARED THE DOCUMENT SHALL ENDORSE ON
THE DOCUMENT THE PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER'S:

(1)  NAME; AND

(2)  SEAL OR A FACSIMILE OF THE SEAL.

(B)  ACCEPTANCE OF DOCUMENTS BY PUBLIC AUTHORITIES.

A PUBLIC AUTHORITY MAY NOT ACCEPT ANY ENGINEERING PLAN,
SPECIFICATION, OR REPORT UNLESS THE DOCUMENT IS ENDORSED AS
REQUIRED UNDER SUBSECTION (A) OF THIS SECTION.
