Ch. 3

LAWS OF MARYLAND

However, a corresponding change was not made to the
quorum provision. Since it does not seem that this
omission was deliberate, the General Assembly may
wish to consider restating the "simple majority"
standard by providing that a majority of the
authorized membership of the Board is a quorum.

Defined term: "Board" § 15-101

15-205. CODE OF ETHICS.

(A)  IN GENERAL.

THE BOARD SHALL ADOPT A CODE OF ETHICS FOR PRACTICING LAND
SURVEYING.

(B)  DISTRIBUTION.

THE BOARD SHALL DISTRIBUTE:

(1)  A COPY OF THE CODE OF ETHICS TO EACH APPLICANT
FOR A LICENSE; AND

(2)  AS THE BOARD CONSIDERS NECESSARY, A COPY OF ANY
AMENDMENT TO THE CODE OF ETHICS TO EACH LICENSEE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: Subsection (a) of this section is new
language derived without substantive change from the
first sentence of former Art. 56, § 333(b).

Subsection (b) of this section is new language
substituted for the second sentence of former Art. 56,
§ 333(b), which required distribution of the code of
ethics to "every registrant and applicant". The
substituted language reflects that the Board already
has distributed a copy of the code of ethics to each
registrant and that the practice of the Board has been
to provide a copy of any amendment to the code of
ethics to registrants only as necessary to keep them
informed of changes in the code.

Defined terms: "Board" § 15-101

"License" § 15-101

"Practice land surveying" § 15-101

15-206. ENFORCEMENT POWERS.

(A)  IN GENERAL.

THE BOARD SHALL ADMINISTER AND ENFORCE THIS TITLE.

(B)  SUBPOENA POWER.
