159 it hath been proved to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof a negro woman named Tempe aged about twenty four years about four feet ten and an half Inches high black Complexion a small scar near the left ear is one of the persons manumitted by John Chew Thomas by deed dated the twelfth day of February Eighteen hundred and twelve, that her freedom commenced on the first day of January Eighteen hundred and fifteen, and that she was raised in the County aforesaid Issued the 23d day of May 1820 Maryland, Anne Arundel County to wit: I hereby Certify to all whom it doth or may concern that it hath been proved to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof a negro man named Vache aged about twenty four years about five feet Eight Inches high brown Complexion a small scar on the nose is one of the persons manumitted by John Chew Thomas by deed dated the twelfth day of February Eighteen hundred and twelve, that his freedom Commenced on the first day of January Eighteen hundred and seventeen, and that he was raised in the County aforesaid Issued the 23d day of January 1820 Maryland, Anne Arundel County to wit: I hereby Certify to all whom it doth or may concern that it hath been proved to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof a negro man named Billy aged about forty three years about five feet five Inches high black Complexion a scar upon the top of the head is one of the persons manumitted by John (Chew) |
