Anne Arundel County Court Certificates of Freedom, 1810-1831

Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit:  I
hereby Certify to all whom it doth or may concern
that it hath been proved to my satisfaction
that the bearer hereof a negro man named Peter
aged about twenty six years about five feet
nine Inches high black Complexion has a
small scar in the forehead is one of the persons
manumitted by Sarah meriweather by deed dated
the twenty fifth day of march Eighteen hundred
and nine, that his freedom commenced in the
year Eighteen hundred and twenty, and that he
was raised in the County aforesaid
           Issued the 23d day of April 1821


    Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit
                I hereby Certify to all whom it doth or
may concern that it hath been proved to my
satisfaction that the bearer hereof a mulatto
woman named mary Thomas aged about
thirty six years about five feet high light
complexion has a scar near the corner of the left
eye a small mole upon each of her cheeks is the
Identical person manumitted by John Franklin
by deed dated the thirtieth day of march in the
year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred
and twenty one and was raised in the
County aforesaid
           Issued the 22d day of may 1821


        Maryland Anne Arundel County sc
                    I hereby Certify to all whom it
doth or may concern that it hath been proved
to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof a
negro woman named Minta aged about
twenty two years about five feet six Inches
                                                        high
