Anne Arundel County Court Certificates of Freedom, 1810-1831

    Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit
               I hereby Certify to all whom it doth
or may concern that it hath been proved to my
satisfaction that the bearer hereof a negro man
named Ben, aged about twenty six years about
five feet nine Inches and an half Inches high
black Complexion, has a small scar upon
the nose, is one of the persons manumitted by
Joseph Court by deed dated the twentieth day
of February Eighteen hundred and two, and
that he was raised in the County aforesaid
    Issued the 27th day of August 1821


    Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit
           I hereby Certify to all whom it doth or may
concern that it hath been proved to my satisfaction
that the bearer hereof a negro woman named
Cate, aged about thirty five years about five
feet six Inches high, dark Complexion, a
small scar near the left wrist is one of the
persons manumitted by Leonard Mallonee
by deed dated the fifteenth day of August
Eighteen hundred and Eight, that her freedom
Commenced on the twentieth day of may
Eighteen hundred and twenty one, and that
he was raised in the County aforesaid
    Issued the 1st day of September 1821


    Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit
               I hereby Certify to all whom it doth or
may Concern that it hath been proved to my
satisfaction that the bearer hereof a negro
woman named Minta aged about forty two
years about five feet five Inches high
black Complexion a scar upon the back of
