167 To the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Kent County I hereby Certify that a Negro man now present and applying for a Certificate of freedom named Isaac S Jones was born free and raised in Kent County and is now about 22 years old May 19 1860 John Bossee Isaac is five feet 7 inches high of light complexion with small scar on upper lip Filed recorded & Certificate issued may 19 1860 By Jesse K Hines, Clk To the Clerk Circuit Court for Kent County I hereby Certify that a Negro Woman now present and applying for a Certificate of freedom named Charlotte Emory is the identical Woman who is mentioned in a deed of manumission by the name of Charlotte otherwise called Darkey executed by Morgan Brown of Edward to sundry negroes dated the 19th day of May 1860 and recorded in Liber J F G No 1 pages 341 & 342 one of the Chattle record Books for Kent County and the said Charlotte is now about 40 years old May 25 1860 Morgan Browne Charlotte is 5 feet 1 inch high of dark complexion with scar near left elbow Filed recorded & Certificate issued May 25 1860 By Jesse K Hines Clk To the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Kent County I hereby Certify that a Negro Woman now present and applying for a Certificate of freedom named Hannah Ann Young was born free and raised in Kent County May 28 1860 Ann B Smith Hannah Ann is about 21 years old and is five feet high Filed recorded & Certificate issued May 28 1860 By Jesse K Hines, Clerk |
