    Jesse K Hines Clerk Circuit Court for Kent County
                      I hereby certify that a negro man now
present and applyind for a certificate of freedom named
James Ringgold aged about 21 years was born free
and raised in Kent County
August 23 1862                    T. H. Bowers of William

       James is 5 feet 5½ in high Brown Complexion
        And was accordingly recorded this 23th day of August 1862

          To Clerk of Circuit Court for Kent
County
             This is to certify that a nigro man
now present and applying for a certificate of freedom
named William Henry Chambers was born free
and raised in Kent County
                                        Richard Smyth
    William Henry Chambers is 5 feet 3¾ inches high
of a dark complexion with a scar on the fore finger
of the left hand and also a scar on the eye
brow of the right eye and a scar also upon the
left leg immediately above the knee
And was accordingly recorded this 4th day of September 1862
