Browne said manumission was made in 1855 and recorded in Liber J. R. No 1 pages 352 & 353 said boy was raised in Kent County Oct 3 1863 W.m H. Lambert Levi is 5 ft 8 inches high dark copper complexion with a small scar on the left breast Filed and recorded Oct 3 1863 By Jesse K Hines Clk To Jesse K Hines the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Kent County I hereby Certify that a negro Man now present and applying for a certificate of freedom named Edwin Scott aged about twenty two years was born free and raised in Kent County Dec.r 30.th 1863 W.m P. Francis Edwin is five feet Eleven and a half inches high Dark Complexion with a very small scar just above the right eye Filed and recorded Dec.r 30 1863 By Jesse K Hines Clk To Jesse K Hines Clerk of Circuit Court Kent County I hereby certify that a negro man now present and applying for a certificate of freedom named Benjamin Wallis is the identical negro of that name in a deed of manumission from Sam.l Kerr to Sundry negroes dated May 30.th A. D. 1860 and recorded in Liber J.N.G. No 1 pages 357 &c of the chattel records for Kent County and is now free and was raised in Kent County Feby 27 1864 John C. Groome |
