Ben Wallis is aged about forty three years of a black complexion
with a small scar near the corner of the left eye and is about
five feet seven inches high

           I hereby certify that a negro woman
now present and applying for a certificate
of freedom calling herself Mary
Simmons who is aged about thirty seven
years is the identical negro who is named
as Maria in a Deed of Manumission
from Cha.s Stanley to Sundry Negroes dated
Feby 10 1829 and recorded in Liber
J. N. G. No 1 Chattel Records for Kent
County  And I further certify that she
was raised in Kent County

                               Cha.s Stanley
Mary is 4 ft 9 in high and of a dark
brown complexion
