Sir.
It is necessary we should be furnished with a List of the
Recruits of each of the Maryland Continental Troops, by
whom inlisted, the Cloathing received and by whom delivered,

and we request you will transmit us such a List, of those of
the first Regiment, as soon as may be, the Names of the
Recruits and the Places of their Inlistment will be necessary,
as well on Account of the promised Bounty of Land, as for

Sir. The Dolphin goes up for such of the Virginia's Crew
as are at Baltimore. The Plater will lie ready for a Part of
them. If it can be done instantly perhaps the Dolphin's
Bottom had better be cleaned in Baltimore: We wish to see
her return as quick as possible, with a full double set of Men.

It had better be given out that the Design is to Man the
Johnson Galley. If Capt Nicholson is gone to York, we hope
he has said enough to make this intelligible.

Circular — In Council Annapolis 12th April 1778.
Sir
We wrote you heretofore, desiring you to advance and
keep in Advance the Recruiting Officers in your County,
under the late Act, forty Dollars for each of three Recruits.
We now desire that they may be kept in Advance for three
Recruits the full Bounty, that is, keep each of them in Hand
one hundred and eighty Dollars in the Whole, and if any of

our Regular Officers should raise Recruits and have them
passed agreeable to the former or the inclosed Act, upon
their Receipt on the Certificate we would have you pay them
the sixty Dollars Bounty: We hope you have qualified your-
