Monday 13th April 1778

Present as on Saturday Edward Loyd Esqr Attended
It is the Opinion of the Governor & Council from all Cir-
cumstances appearing to them that the Boat Captured by
Joseph Middleton and others is the Property of William Black
of Virginia and ought to be delivered to him
Ordered That the western shore Treasurer Pay to Doct.
George Robinson thirteen Pounds, fifteen Shillings due to him
and the further Sum of Fifteen Pounds, sixteen Shillings for
the use of John Mackall per Acct passed by A. G.
That the said Treasurer Pay to Col. Edward Lloyd Thirty
two Dollars per Acct examd & Passed by the Board of Accounts
the 2d Febry 1778.
That the said Treasurer Pay William Goldsmith seventy
seven Pounds thirteen Shillings and four Pence per Account
passed by the A Genl
That the said Treasurer pay to Mary Priestly fifty four
Pounds eight Shillings and two Pence due her for nursing and
Boarding the Defences Crew as per Account passed by the
Auditor General
Ordered That the Commissary of Stores deliver to Captain
Williams of the 2d Regiment Sundry Cloathing per List sent
charged to that Regiment
Ordered That the Sheriff of Prince Georges County Pay to
Capt. Lilburn Williams three hundred and sixty Dollars for
the Recruiting Service to be charged to the second Regiment

Tuesday 14th April 1778

Present as on yesterday James Hindman Esqr Attended.
Ordered That the western shore Treasurer Pay to John
Veazey Esqr sixty two Pounds, eight shillings for the use and
to be delivered over to William Veazey due to him per
Account passed by the Auditor General
That the said Treasurer Pay to Charles Downes Purchaser
of Provisions in Queen Annes County Nine hundred Dollars
out of the Money remitted by Congress for the Purchase of
Provisions
That the Said Treasurer Pay to Captain John David five hun-
dred and Thirty Eight Pounds, seventeen Shillings and four
Pence due to the Crew of the Galley Conqueror lately under
his Command and the further sum of Twenty six Pounds one
shilling & five Pence per Account passed by the Auditor
General
That the said Treasurer pay to William Hays forty five
