Friday17th April 1778

Present as on yesterday
Ordered That Mr Crysall supply the Dolphin with a Barrel
of Beef a Barrell of Pork two Barrels of Bread and 12 lb
Candles
Mr Harris is requested to furnish the Dolphin with 40
Galls Whiskey
Capt Campbell is requested to furnish the Dolphin with
half a Barrel of Musket powder 200 Swivel Balls and 400
Musket Cartridges
Ordered That the Commissary of Stores, deliver to Capt
Gordon Brittanies for 2 Shirts.
That the said Commissary of Stores deliver to Lieut Gale
12 Blankets and 14 Knapsacks for the Artillery Men sent
under his Commd to E Shore
That the said Commissary of Stores deliver to Lieut Somer-
ville of the sixth Regiment 7 yds. Linen
Ordered That the western shore Treasurer Pay to Jacob
Mitinger twelve Pounds, ten Shillings for Expences in bring-
ing Thomas Wright a State Prisoner from Baltimore Town
and the further Sum of Twenty four Pounds three Shillings
and Nine Pence for his & Men's Expences in taking up De-
serters per Accounts examined & Passed by the A General
Lieut Gale.
You are to proceed with all Expedition to Chester Town
with your Detachment of Artillerists, Artillery & small Arms
& be subject to the Orders of Colo Bordley it is designed you
should act in Concert with the Militia against the Insurgents.
If the wind should prove unfavourable so that Attempting to
get to Chester may occasion delay you are to land at Queen's
Town call on any Militia Officer immediately for Assistance
of Carriages &ca and proceed forward to join the Militia col-
lected some where we expect in the Head of Queen Annes
County sending an Express as soon as you get to Queen's
Town to Colo Hemsley and another to Colo Bordley — the
Arms & Cartouch Boxes may be delivered to either of them.
We trust your Activity will be equal to the Occasion
Ordered That the Western shore Treasurer Pay to Capt
Thomas Coursey one thousand four hundred and fifty two
Pounds, fifteen Shillings and eight Pence due himself & Crew
of the Chester Galley per Pay roll examd & passed by the
Auditor General.
That the said Treasurer Pay to Charles Wallace, Paymr five
hundred Pounds to Pay the Matross Companies to be
accounted for
That the said Treasurer pay to Nathan Waters two hundred
