SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the State herbby releases any
right it may have, or be supposed to have in the
said land.

Release.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
go into effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 89.

AN ACT to incorporate a Company to construct
a Turnpike Road from Hagerstown to Cearfoss
Cross Roads in Washington County.

In force.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Daniel Cearfoss, Henry Zeller,
Dr. A. B. Scott, F. T. Zeigler, Samuel Zeller,
John Horst, Daniel Rife, Peter Negley, Benjamin
E. Shilman, Joseph P. Mong and all other per-
sons who may have, or shall hereafter subscribe
to the stock of said Company, be, and they are
hereby incorporated a body politic for making a
Turnpike Road to commence at some point within
the corporate limits of the town of Hagerstown
and run to Cearfoss Cross Roads.

Incorporation.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the capital stock
of said Company shall not exceed fifteen thousand
dollars, to be divided into shares of twenty-five
dollars each, and as soon as the sum of five thou-
sand dollars shall have been subscribed, a majority
of the subscribers shall give two weeks notice in
one or more newspapers published in Hagerstown
of the time and place designated by them for the
subscribers to meet for the purpose of organizing
said corporation, who shall then and there choose
by a plurality of votes, and by ballot, a President
and five Managers, any three of whom shall form
a quorum, and in the same manner to elect a
Treasurer and such other officers as they shall
