other carriage of pleasure or burthen from passing
through said gate until they have Respectively paid
the same, that is to say : For every score of

sheep, five cents ; for every score of hogs, five
cents ; for every score of cattle, ten cents ; for
every horse ridden, led or running loose, five
cents ; for every carriage, cart, wagon, sleigh or
sled of either pleasure or burthen, with wheels less
than four inches in width, five cents ; for each
horse drawing the same, and with wheels four
inches or upward, three cents ; mules and oxen to
be rated as horses.

Sec. 7. And be it enacted, That during the con-
struction of said road the Company may obstruct
the travel upon the same so far as in their judg-
ment may be necessary to protect it from injury.

Sec. 8. And be it enacted, That nothing in this
Act shall be construed so as to authorize said cor-
poration to issue any note, token, scrip, device or
other evidence of debt to be used as currency, and
the Legislature reserves to itself the right to alter
or amend this Act of incorporation at pleasure.

Sec. 9. And be it enacted, That this Company
shall not be privileged to charge tolls on any ve-
hicle passing over this road for the purpose of at-
tending funerals.
