Which was read and referred to the Dorchester delega-
tion.

On motion of Mr. Harrington,

Leave was granted to the Dorchester delegation to intro-
duce a bill prohibiting the killing or capturing of mocking-
birds in Dorchester couaty.

On motion of Mr. Neill,

Leave was granted to the Washington county delegation
to introduce a bill to provide for the appointment of Consta-
bles in District No. 17, of Washington county.

Also,

Leave was granted to the Washington county delegation
to introduce a bill to authorize the Governor to appoint
Magistrates in District No. 17, of Washington county.

Also,

Leave was granted to the Washington county delegation
to introduce a bill to prohibit the killing of partridges in
Washington county.

On motion of Mr. Baldwin, of Anne Arundel,

Leave was granted the Committee on Roads and Highways
to report a bill to repeal the Act of 1868, chapter 299, relat-
ing to Public Roads, and to re-enact the same with amend-
ments.

On motion of Mr. Grouse,

Leave was granted the Carroll county delegation, to bring
in a bill for the protection of Fish in the waters of Carroll
county.

Mr. Blake submitted the following order :

Ordered, That a committee of three be appointed from this
House to correspond with the son of Franklin Peale, to ascer-
tain what the portrait of Lord Baltimore, now in his posses-
sion, and formerly belonging to this State, can be purchased
for, and report to this House.

Which was adopted, and Messrs. Blake, Merrick and Tur-
ner constituted said committee.

Mr, Blake submitted the following message :
