to which this is an amendment, so as to commence
the same at any point within the limits of the city
of Baltimore, and to locate such portion of the

ler, and continue thence to some point on the
Patapsco River, near Orange Grove Mill, with a
lateral branch to some point on the said river, near
the Relay House Station, on the Baltimore and
Ohio Railroad, as provided for in the original char-
ter, and shall also have the power to extend the
said Avenue from the original terminus, as afore-
said, through Howard County, to a point on the
Columbia turnpike, at or near Pushpin bridge,
on the Patuxent River, which point shall be the
western terminus of said Avenue.
Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That Section eight of
the original Act of incorporation, paeeed January
Session, eighteen hundred and sixty, shall be
altered and amended so as to read as follows:
Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That the said Com-
pany is hereby invested with all the power and au-
thority necessary for the construction of a turn-
pike road between the termini mentioned in the
first Section of this amendatory Act, to be con-

structed of such materials as the President and
Board of Directors, chosen under the provisions of
this Act shall direct; the bed of which road shall
be of the width of sixty feet, of which at least
fifteen feet shall be composed of broken stone,
gravel, or other hard substance, with good and
sufficient bridges over any stream crossing the
same, and in order more particularly to specify
said route.

Where to
commence.
|
Sec. 4. And be it further enacted, That said road
shall commence, as aforesaid, at some point within
the present limits of the city of Baltimore, and
from the western line of the limits of said City
shall run in a southwesterly direction along or
near the lands of Robert Fowler to a point to be
designated by said Company in and upon the land
of the Baltimore Manual Labor School, thence
diverging in a wegtwardly direction by the most
eligible, convenient and practicable route, to be
designated by said Company, through the lands of
