four hundred and twenty-eight, be, and the same is
hereby changed to that of the Maryland Coal Com-
pany, and that by the name of the Maryland Coal
Company it shall sue and be sued and have, hold,
use, enjoy, all the property, rights and franchises
and be liable for all the contracts and obligations
of the said Mutual Coal Company, and that the
proceedings and decree of the Circuit Court for
Allegany County, as a Court of Equity, passed on
the eighth day of July, eighteen hundred and
sixty-nine, changing the name of said Mutual Coal
Company to that of the Maryland Coal Company,

be and the same are hereby made valid and effec-
tual in law for said purpose.
Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from its passage.

CHAPTER 51.

AN ACT for the better protection of Partridges
and Pheasants in Harford County ;
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That no person shall trap, shoot or
in any manner catch or kill any partridges and
pheasants within the limits of Harford County for
the period of two years from the date of the pas-
sage of this Act.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That any person vio-
lating the preceding section shall pay a fine of ten
dollars, to be recovered before a justice of the
peace of the county, one-half of said fine to be

paid to the informer and the balance to the County
Commissioners, for the use of the school fund.
Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
