CHAPTER 55.
AN ACT to authorize the Governor to appoint an
additional Justice of the Peace for Election Dis-
trict number one, in Worcester County, also an
additional Justice of the Peace for Election Dis-
trict number eight.

Justices.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Governor be and he is
hereby authorized to appoint one additional Jus-
tice of the Peace for Election District number one, in
Worcester County, also one additional Justice of
the Peace for Election District number eight.

|
In force.
|
Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 56.
|
|
|
AN ACT to repeal the fiftieth Section of Article
five of the Code of Public General Laws, relat-
ing to Appeals, and to re-enact the same with
amendments; and to add an additional Section
to said Article.
|
|
Repealed.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Section fifty of Article five of
the Code of Public General Laws be, and the
same is hereby repealed, and that the following
be substituted in lieu thereof;

Cases de novo.
|
50. Any party aggrieved thereby may appeal
from any judgment of a Justice of the Peace to
the Circuit Court for the County or Baltimore
City Court, in Baltimore, at any time within sixty
days from the rendition of such judgment; and
the Court to which such appeal is taken shall
hear the case de novo, and determine the same
according to law and the equity and right of the
matter, and this Section shall be construed to
include all actions of debts for the collection of
