Which was read, assented to and sent to the Senate.
The Secretary of the Senate delivered the following mes-
sage:

BY THE SENATE,

January 20, 1870.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates :

We have received your message inviting us into the Cham-
ber of your House, for the purpose of proceeding to the elec-
tion of three Commissioners of Police for the City of Balti-
more, and concur therein.

We have nominated on the part of the Senate, Messrs. Le-
ferre Jarrett, W. H. B. Fusselbaugh, Jas. E. Carr and Wm.
H. Neilson.

Secretary.
Which was read.

The Senators of Maryland, accompanied by their Secretary,
now appeared in the Hall of the House of Delegates.

The Speaker then announced that the Senate and House
would now, in Joint Convention, proceed to the election of
three Police Commissioners for the City of Baltimore, as
agreed upon, between the two Houses, and in accordance with
the provisions of the Act of Assembly, January session, 1867.

The Speaker appointed Mr. Snyder on the part of the Sen-

ate, and Mr. Blake on the part of the House, to act as tellers.

The Secretary of the Senate, and Clerk of the House of
Delegates, proceeded to call the roll of their respective
Houdes.

Whereupon each member proceeded to ballot.

Upon counting the ballots,

Mr. Snyder, on the part of the tellers, made the following

REPORT.

HOUSE OF DELEGATES,
January 20, 1870.

At a Joint Meeting of the Senate and House of Delegates
held in compliance with an Act of January Session, 1867,
to elect three persons to constitute the Board of Police Com-

mossioners of the City of Baltimore, the tellers appointed re-
spectfully report, that there were 108 ballots cast, and
Lefevre Jarrett received 103 votes.
