NEGATIVE—Mr. Stephenson—1.
Said bill was then returned to the House of Delegates.
Mr. Blake was excused from voting on the said bill.
The House bill entitled an Act to create a loan to provide
for the completion and furnishing of the building for the
Maryland Hospital at Spring Grove, in Baltimore county,
Being on its third reading,
Mr. Blake moved to postpone further consideration there-
of until to-morrow, at 12 o'clock.
Which was adopted.
Mr. Earle, from the Committee on Finance, to which had
been referred
The bill relating to Gangers,
Reported said bill with the following amendments:
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.
Strike out "section I," and insert the following :
"Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That any citizen of the State of Maryland, on applica-
tion to the Clerk of the Court of Common Pleas in Baltimore
City, and on paying one hundred dollars to said Clerk, shall
be entitled to receive a license to act as Ganger of Casks and
Liquors for the term of one year from the date thereof. The
person applying for said license shall, at the time of receiv-
ing the same, take and subscribe before said Clerk, an oath,
that he will honestly and faithfully discharge the duties
of said office."
In section 8, lines 1 and 2, strike oat "appointed by the
Governor," and insert "properly licensed."
Which were adopted.
Said bill was then read the second time as amended.
