,1 674 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS Mar. 27, The Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared and deliver- ed The House Joint Resolutions relating to the International Steamship Company, looking to the establishment of an iron- clad steamship building yard. Which was read the first time, and referred to the Com- mittee on Federal Relations. Also, delivered The House bill entitled an Act relating to Justices of the Peace and Constables in Prince George's county. Which was read the first time and referred to the Committee on Judicial Proceedings. And returned The Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize the Town Commissioners of Newtown, to endorse the bonds of the Wor- cester and Somerset Railroad Company, to the amount of five thousand dollars, Endorsed "Passed by yeas and nays." Mr. Dennis submitted the following order: Ordered That the Chairman of the Committee on Claims to the House of Delegates, be requested to issue his warrant E. 8. Riley, reporter of the proceedings of the Senate, for the Baltimore News Association, the sum of three hundred dollars. Mr. Stephenson moved to strike out "$300.00" and insert "$100.00." Which was determined in the negative. On motion by Mr. Fields, The further consideration of said order wag postponed. On motion by Mr. Fields, The Senate adjourned. |
