1872.] OF THE SENATE. 675 THURSDAY, March 28, 1872. The Senate met. Prayer by Rev. Father Freitag. Present at roll call, the following Senators : Messrs. President, Blake, Compton, Carroll, Crawford, Claggett, Denson, Dennis, Earle, Fields, Henry, Jump, Miller, Stephenson, Spates, Sellman, Spencer, Steiner, Tim- mons, Tuck, Williams—21. The proceedings of yesterday were read and approved. The Clerk of the House appeared and delivered The House bill entitled an Act to repeal certain sections of the Public Local Laws of Frederick county, relating to Frederick City, and to re-enact substitutes therefor. Which was read the first time and referred to Messrs. Steiner, Jump and Tuck. Mr. Compton, from a Select Committee, reported favor- ably on The House bill repealing section 20, of the Act passed at the present Session of the Legislature, relating to the inspec- tion of Tobacco. Which was read the second time. On notion by Mr. Compton, The rules were suspended, so as to give a third reading to said bill this day, as follows : AFFIRMATIVE. Messrs. President, Fields, Blake, Henry, Compton, Jump, Carroll, Miller, Crawford, Spates, Claggett, Sellman, Denson, Spencer, Downs, Steiner, Dennis, Timmons, Earle, Tuck—20. NEGATIVE—None. |
