The order of the day, being The House bill entitled an Act to provide for a loan to com- plete the Hospital at Spring Grove, Was read the third time, and passed, by yeas and nays, as follows ; AFFIRMATIVE. Messrs. President, Henry, Compton, Spates, Carroll, Sellman, Crawford, Spencer, Claggett, Steiner, Denson, Tuck, Downs, Wilson, Dennis, Williams—17. Earle, NEGATIVE. Messrs. Blake, Miller, Jump, Stephenson—4. Said bill was then sent to the House of Delegates. The Senate bill entitled an Act for the relief of St. John's College, Being on its second reading, Mr. Tuck moved a call of the Senate, When the following Senators responded : Messrs. President, Blake, Compton, Carroll, Claggett, Earle, Henry, Miller, Stephenson, Spates, Bellman, Spencer, Steiner, Tuck, Wilson—15. The Sargeent-at-Arms was sent to notify the absent mem- bers that their presence was required in the Senate. On motion by Mr. Carroll, Further proceedings under the call were dispensed with. Mr. Tuck moved, to strike out of the preamble, all after the word "State." Which was adopted. Mr. Fields submitted- following amendment: Section 1, line 5, strike out "twelve," and insert "five."
