a third reading.
Mr. Tuck, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
reported favorably on
The Senate bill entitled an Act to make it obligatory on
telegraph companies to record their charters in the Circuit
Courts of the counties through which they pass,
And said bill was read the second time and ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading.
Mr. Spates, from a Select Committee, reported favorably on
The House bill relating to election districts in Allegany
county.
Which was read the second time.
Also, from the Committee on Corporations, reported un-
favorably on
The Senate bill entitled an Act supplementary to the Act
to incorporate the Broadway and Locust Point Steam Ferry
Boat Company,
And the report was adopted.
The Senate bill entitled an Act to amend the Code of
Public General Laws, title "Evidence,"
Was read the third time and passed by yeas and nays, as
follow*:
AFFIRMATIVE.
Blake, Spates,
Carroll, Sellman,
Claggett, Spencer,
Downs, Steiner,
Fields, Timmons,
Jump, Tuck,
Longwell, Wilson,
Miller, Williams—17.
Stephenson,
NEGATIVE—None.
Said bill was then sent to the House of Delegates.
-On motion,
Leave was granted to Mr. Downs to withdraw from the
files of the Senate, the papers filed with Senate bill entitled
an Act to authorize the County Commissioners of St. Mary's,
Charles and Prince George's counties, to subscribe to the
capital stock of the Washington City and Point Lookout
Railroad.
