The bill to provide for the defence of officers of Registration
and others.
The bill to amend the Act to incorporate the Maryland
Union Coal Company.
Also, delivered,
The House bill entitled an Act for the promotion and im-
provement of Agriculture and the Mechanical and Household
Arts in Maryland.
Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Agriculture.
Also,
The House bill entitled an Act to refund to Truman Belt
& Sons, and others, moneys erroneously paid to Inspectors of
Tobacco.
Which was read the first time and referred to the Com-
mittee on Finance.
The Clerk of the House of Delegates appeared and deliv-
ered the following message :
BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,
March 28, 1872.
Gentlemen of the Senate ;
We have received your message, informing this House of
the action of the Senate, on rejecting, for want of a Consti-
tutional majority, House bill No. 81, entitled an Act to au-
thorize and direct the Attorney General to institute proceed-
ings to forfeit the charter of the Baltimore and Harford
Turnpike Company, and respectfully non-concur therein.
We ask your Honorable Body to appoint a Committee of
Conference to consider the same.
We have appointed on the part of the House, Messrs. Col-
ton, of Baltimore City, Shipley and Streett.

March 28, 1872.
'Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:
, We have received your message, proposing a Committee
