Altered and SEC. 2. And he if enacted, Til at the powers contained
amended. hi the first section of said Act be and the same are
Proviso. hereby altered and amended so as to read: Provided,
 
 
that the value of real estate held at any time by the
 
 
said corporation, shall not exceed one hundred
 
 
thousand dollars.
Alter, amend SEC. 3. Awl be It enacted, That the Legislature re-
or annul. serves to itself the right to alter, amend or annul tills
 
 
Act at its pleasure.
Ill force. SEC. 4. And he it enacted, That this Act shall take
 
 
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 30.

AN ACT to amend chapter one hundred and twenty-

six of the Laws, passed January session eighteen

hundred and seventy, entitled " An Act to au-

thorize the Faculty and Board of Trustees of the

Washington University of Baltimore, to use the

real estate of said University situated at the corner

of Calvert and Saratoga streets in Baltimore city,

as a basis of credit to raise a sum of money not

exceeding ten thousand dollars, by creating a

ground rent thereon, for the uses of said University.

Preamble WHEREAS, By reason of the misnomer of the cor-

porate title of the Board of Visitors of the Washing-

ton University of Baltimore, in the Act above referred

to, the purposes of said Act failed to he accomplished;

and, whereas, the necessities of the said Washington

University of Baltimore, and the hospital connected

therewith, require a larger sum of money to defray

the expenses of the buildings than was originally

contemplated.

Section re- SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assemble of
