LAWS OF MARYLAND.

Null and void

shall, on and after the first day of January, eighteen


hundred and eighty-one, become null and void ; and


in the event of such licenses so becoming null and


void, the Comptroller of the Treasury is hereby


authorized and directed to issue his warrant upon


the Treasurer for the payment to any person who


may have taken out license for the sale of intoxi-


cating liquors in Charles county from the first day


of May, eighteen hundred and eighty, to the first


day of May, eighteen hundred and eighty-one, one-


fourth part of the amount so paid by such person


for such license, upon proper proof of such payment


by him exhibited to the Comptroller.

CHAPTER 375.


AN ACT to appropriate fifteen hundred dollars, or


so much thereof as may be necessary, to the pay-


ment of counsel and of the fines and costs in the


cases of certain judges of election of Anne Arun-


del county who were tried in the Circuit Court of


the United States for the District of Maryland,


in January, eighteen hundred and seventy-nine.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly


of Maryland, That the sum of fifteen hundred dol-


lars, or so much thereof as may be necessary, be and


the same is hereby appropriated to the payment of
counsel and of the fines and costs in the cases of


certain judges of election of Anne Arundel county,

Pay fines and

who were tried in the Circuit Court of the United

costs.

States for the District of Maryland ; five hundred


dollars of which sum shall be paid to William H.


Tuck and S. T. McCullough, counsel for said judges


of election, and one thousand dollars, or so much


thereof as may be necessary, shall be applied to the


payment of the fines and costs in the said cases of the
