Know all men by these presents that wee Stephen Luffe Nehemiah Covington & James Dashiels Junior of SomrSet
County in the Province of Maryland Gentm. are holden and firmly bounden unto their Maties. King William and
Queen Mary in the full Sum of Two hundred thousand pounds of good sound Merchantable tobacco & Caske
to be paid to their Maties King William: and Queen Mary or to their Successors, to the which payment
to be well and truly made we bind us, and each of us by him Selfe and for the whole firmly by these
presents, In Testimony whereof we have hereunto Sett our hands and Seals this 11th. day of November in
the second year of their Maties Reign Over England &c. and in the year of our Lord God One thousand six hundred
and ninety . ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
The Condition. of this Obligation is Such that if the above bound Stephen Luffe do well and
truly Serve their Maties. theire Heirs and Successors in the Office of high Sheriffe of Somerset County and shall
render unto their said Maties and other their Maties Officers, a true faithfull and perfect accot. of all and
Singular their Maties Rents and other fees, and dues that he shall be intrusted with by their said Maties or
any of their Officers within this Province, to receive and collect, and his accot. to their said Maties heirs and
Successors for his Rents and fines, forfeitures or other dues belonging to their Maties , And also his accompt of
all fees, dues or Sums of tobacco for leavies or fees due to any of their Maties Officers within this Province
shall pass and give an accompt of, at the Citty of St. Maries in the Province aforesaid in his owne propper
person by the first tuesday in April next ensueing the date hereof and in all other things as Sheriffe of the
said County shall behave himselfe, well and honestly as well towards their said Maties as to all other persons
whatsoever. Then this Obligation to be void and or else to remain in full force and virtue ------------------

Know all men by these presents that wee Robert: Nearne. John: Strawbridge and John: West of the
County of Somerset in the Province of Maryland Gentm. do acknowledge and confesse our Selves to owe
and are indebted unto theire Maties. King William: and Queen Mary in the full and just Sum of One hundred
pounds Sterling money of England for the which payment well and truly to be made we bind us and each
of us, our Heirs Execcutors and Admrs joyntly and Severally in and for the whole to their sd Maties their
Heirs or Successors, firmly by these presents. In Testimony whereof we have hereunto sett to our hands
and seals this 9th. day of December in the second year of their Maties Reign Over England &c. and in
the year of our Lord God. One thousand six hundred and ninety. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
The Condition of this Obligation is Such that if the above bound Robert: Nearne, do well and truly
Serve their Maties. their Heirs and Successors as a Navall Officer of their Maties dues for this County of Somerset
and shall render unto their said Maties. and Other their Maties Officers, a true faithfull and perfect account, of all
and singular, the sums and sums of money which shall be by him collected or recd, from any Master or Masters
Owner or owners, Merchants, Mates, or any other Officer or Officers of any shipp or shipps, vessel or vessels ( )
in this said County and shall make a perfect returne of the same, that then this Obligation to be void and of (none)
effect otherwayes to be and remain in full power force and virtue Rob: Nearn . Sealed
