M^r James:Round. Plt                   Somerset County Ss Robert Howard late of this County was attached to answer

Robert: Howard. Dft }             unto James Round Gentl. of a Plea of trespas on the Case. &ca. ________

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~                   And whereupon the Said James by Peter Dent Complaineth that whereas y^e

                                                         Said Robert y^e 25^th day of May in the year of our Lord 1693 / at Pocomoke with

in the Jurisdiction of this Court was indebted to the Said James in the Sum of One hundred pounds of Porke being for

the passage of the Said Robert & freight of Sundry goods from Pocomoke to S^t Maries, and the Said Robert to the Said James

in manner aforesd being indebted afterwards did assume upon himself & to y^e sd James faithfully promise that he the said

Robert the Said Sum of One hundred pounds of Porke to the Said James when requested would well & truely Content and

pay Nevertheless the Said Robert his promise & assumption aforesd not regarding but minding & fraudulently intending

him the Said James in this behalf Craftily & Subtily to deceive & defraud the Same to the sd James hath not Paid although

the sd Robert to doe the Same by the sd James hath been requested but the Same to doe hath refused and doth Still refuse to y^e

damage of the Said James of 500 Pounds of Porke and thereon he bring this Sute .

                And the Defend^t p^r Sam Worthington his Attorney Comes & Saith that the Plaintiff his Declaracon ought not

                to have by reason the Plts Attorney hath not Signed to his Decl. nor thereunto Assigned any Pleges to prosecute

                & puts himself upon the Court. Worthington

John: Taylor Plt.            Whereas John Taylor brought a Sciori fac. agt Sd Strawbridge for 200 lb tob. & Cost the Said

Jn^o. Strawbridge Dft} Strawbridge makeing appear a debt due of a higher Nature. therefore it was this Courts

Ephraim Wilson Sher plt Matthew Jones being arested at the Sute of Ellis Coleman. whereupon Walter Evins

& Walter Evins Dfts Jones nor Evins appearing to answer sd Colemans Sute. y^e sd Sher Sued their Bail bond

                                                      Open Court did assume to pay Cost & Come to tryal. but after Came in p^rpria p^rsona &

Coleman et                              did Confess judgm^t to the Originall debt of Colemans viz 122 pounds of Porke

  Jones } orig^ll                    & was willing to poay the whole Charges thereon accrued. Whereupon the Court grants

                                                      Ord^r. for the Same with Cost alias Executio .
