( 157 ) Charles Tindall and John Barker being bound pr Recognizance to appear this Court and answer to their Maties and being each of them three times Calld & no appearance made except pr mr Miles Gray, which sd Gray as Security for sd Barker [had] humbly requested this Court that he might have liberty till next Court to produce sd Barker which being Considered was to the sd Gray Granted in Consideration of ye badness of Weather and the Same liberty is likewise granted to the other Security also ~~~~ ~~~~~ ~~~~~~ ~~~~~~ ~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Courts adjourned till tomorrow at 8 a Clock.
At a Court of adjournmt held for the County of Somerset in the Province of Maryland by their Maties Justices of the Peace the 31th day of January in the year of or Lord 1694/5.
Comrs prsent mr ffra: Jenckins mr Thomas Dixon mr John Bozeman, mr Thomas Jones mr John King mr Stephen Horsey & mr Arnold Elzey.
Upon Motion made to the Worll Court abovesd by James Knox Concerning Worke done by sd Knox to Mon the bridge at the head of Monokin It was by the Justices aforesd Considered & Ordered that Richard Chambers & John Goldsmith doe view the sd Worke done & Bridge & make report thereof to our next Court to be held in March.
And at a Court held ye day abovesd, These following Attachments were fiori facias &ca were by the sheriff returned
Maryland Ss// William & Mary by the Grace of God of England Scotland ffrance & Ireland King & Queen Defenders of ye ffaith &ca. To the Sheriff of Somerset County Greeting Wee Comand yw that yw attach any of the goods Chattels & Credits of Lawrence Crawford late of this County to the value of Twenty thousand three hundred & fourty pounds of tobacco at the least & when yw have the value afd or any part thereof the Same Secure untill the sd Law Crawford either by him Self or attorney appear before our Justices of our next County Court to be holden the Second Tuesday in Janry next then & there to answer unto ffr Jenckins Gent of a plea that he render unto him twenty thousand pounds of tobacco which to him he oweth & unjustly detaineth And that yw Sumon the prson or prsons Garnishe or Garnishees in whose hands the effects or any part thereof are attached that they appear the day aforesd before the Justices of or Said County Court to show Cause (if any they have) why the goods Chattels & Credits So attached in their hands should not be Comended & Execution thereof had and made hereof fail not at ye perill and have yw there this Writt dated the 14th. day of November in the sixth year of or Reign &ca. Attached part of the within precept as by part of Negers & five yearlings amounting to the Sum of three thousand five hundred and eleaven pounds of tobacco, pr Martin Trontham. Sub Sheriff. November ye 16. 1694 . The Court abovesd Orders Condemnation & Exn on ye abovesd goods &ca as pr [returne]thereof Maryland Ss / William & Mary by the Grace of God of England Scotland ffrance & Ireland King & Queen Defenders of the faith &ca To the sheriff of Somerset County Greeting Wee comand yw attach any of the goods Chattels & Credits of Lawrence Crawford Late of this County to the Value of fourteen hundred & Seven pounds of tobacco at the least & when yw have the value aforesd or any part thereof, the Same Secure, until the Said Law Crawford either by himself or Attorney appear before or Justices of our next County Court to be holden the Second Tuesday in Janry next then & there to answer unto ffra:Jenckins Gent in an accon of the Case, And that yw Sumon the Person or Persons, Garnishee or Garnishees in whose hands the effects or any part thereof
