provided, and to pass such ordinances as may be necessary
for the purpose of this Act.

SEC. 8. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 78,

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections
445 of Article 21 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Talbot County, " sub-
title" "St. Michaels, " increasing the number of Commis-
sioners for the town of St. Michaels and providing for
their election.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 445 of Article 21 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, (1930 Edition), title "Tal-
bot County, " sub-title "St. Michaels, " be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted with amendments, to read as
follows:

445. The Commissioners shall be five in number;
and every citizen of said town of St. Michaels, who
has resided, in said town six months next preceding the
election and whose name shall appeal upon the list of reg-
istered voters of the town, as hereinafter provided, shall
be entitled to vote at all elections hereafter to be held, but
no person who has been convicted of larceny or other in-
famous crimes, unless pardoned by the Governor, and no
person under guardianship as a lunatic or as a person non
compos mentis shall be entitled to vote; only persons above
the age of twenty-one years who have resided in said town
for more than one year immediately preceding said elec-
tion, who are duly registered voters therein, and who pay
taxes in said town on an assessment on real estate in their
own names, respectively, of not less than Three hundred
dollars ($300. 00), shall be eligible for election as Com-
missioner. All elections for Commissioners shall be held on
the first Monday in April of each year between the hours
of one and six o'clock P. M. The qualified voters shall elect
by ballot on the first Monday in April, 1935, as Commis-
