tion to be published not less than four times at weekly intervals in a news-
paper of general circulation in the City of Forstburg, and the area to be
annexed, briefly and accurately describing the proposed change and the
conditions and circumstances applicable thereto. The said public notice
shall specify that a public hearing will be held on the Resolution by the
Mayor and City Council of Frostburg, in the City Hall, Water Street, Frost-
burg, Maryland, on the 15th day of November, 1971, at 7:30 p.m.

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That following said public
hearing the Mayor and City Council will proceed to adopt or reject said
Resolution, and if adopted, that the enlargement of the corporate bounda-
ries of the City of Frostburg shall become effective on the 30th day of
December, 1971, unless a petition for referendum thereon shall be filed
as permitted by law.

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That as soon as the enlarge-
ment of the corporate boundaries of the City of Frostburg shall become
effective, either as herein provided or following a referendum, the Mayor
shall promptly register both the original boundaries and the new boun-
daries with the City Clerk of Frostburg, with the Director of the Hall of
Records, with the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Allegany County, and
with the Director of the Department of Legislative Reference.

Annexation Resolution

A Resolution of the Mayor and City Council of Frostburg, to enlarge
the corporate boundaries of the City of Frostburg, and thereby amend
the Charter of the City of Frostburg.

WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council of Frostburg, pursuant to the
authority contained in Article XI-E of the Constitution of the State of
Maryland, and Article 23A, Section 19, of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition, as amended), deem it in the public interest to enlarge the
corporate boundaries of the City of Frostburg, and

WHEREAS, the area to be annexed is contiguous and adjacent to the
existing corporate area, and the consent for said annexation has been ob-
tained from not less than twenty-five per centum (25%) of the persons
who reside in the area to be annexed and who are registered voters in
Allegany County, and from the owners of not less than twenty-five per
centum (25%) of the assessed valuation of the real property located in
said area to be annexed.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND
CITY COUNCIL OF FROSTBURG, pursuant to the above mentioned
authority, that the present corporate limits of the City of Frostburg, as
described in Section 169 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Allegany
County (Everstine's 1963 Addition), and in Section 2 of Chapter 662 of
the 1953 Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland, be enlarged to include
the following area:
