I, the undersigned, as Clerk of North Beach, Maryland, hereby certify that at a
meeting on the 12th day of October, 1972, the Town Council, with 4 members
present, adopted the foregoing Resolution by the affirmative vote of 4 Councilmen,
said Resolution having been duly introduced on the 14th day of September, 1972.

RESOLUTION 12-72 AMENDING

TOWN CHARTER OF
NORTH BEACH, MARYLAND

WHEREAS the Town Council for the Town of North Beach has adopted a
Merit System Ordinance and,

WHEREAS said Merit System Ordinance is intended to cover all Town
employees and,

WHEREAS Article 18, Section b, of the Charter for the Town of North Beach
effectively excludes heads of offices, departments, and agencies, from the said
Merit System Ordinance and,

WHEREAS the Town Council is desirous of bringing all employees of the
Town under the Merit System,

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Section b of Article 18 of the
Charter is hereby repealed and re-enacted to read as follows:

b. The Mayor, with the approval of the Council, shall appoint the heads of
all offices, departments, and agencies, of the Town government, in the manner
established by the Merit System Ordinance. All employees of the Town
Government shall be appointed and removed in accordance with rules and
regulations in the Merit System Ordinance.
