       Maryland Prince Georges County Sc.t

            I hereby certify that negro Jerome the bearer
       hereof about thirty one years of age of a
       dark complexion five feet five Inches
       high has a dark spot in the palm of his
       left hand somewhat resembling a mole
       and who was raised in the family of
       Robert Waters deceased is a freeman
       and became entitled to his freedom by a
       Deed of Manumission from the said Robert
       Waters bearing date the twenty seventh day
       of February Seventeen hundred and ninety
       eight duly exhibited and recorded in my
       office

                In testimony whereof I hereto
                subscribe my name and affix the
                seal of my office this 15.th day of Sep.r
