       The State of Maryland Prince Georges County Sc.t

       I hereby certify that the Bearer hereof
       a black man by the name of Richard
       about five feet five or six inches high
       and about twenty two years of age
       having a scar on the upper part of the
       stomach occasioned by a burn is a free
       man being the son of Chloe who was
       manumitted by Benjamin Clarke
       by Deed bearing date the sixth day of
       october in the year seventeen hundred
       and eighty

                In Testimony Whereof I have
                hereto subscribed my name
                and affixed the seal of
