       Maryland Prince Georges County sc.t

               I hereby certify that the bearer hereof
       George Washington a bright mulatto boy
       about five years old & about three feet five
       inches high having no perceptable scar
       is a free boy being the son of Lydia
       Hamilton who obtained her freedom by
       virtue of a Deed of Manumission from
       Higginson Belt bearing date the
       twenty third day of February one thousand
       seven hundred and eighty one
       and recorded among the Records of  
       Montgomery County

                   In Testimony whereof I have
                   hereunto subscribed my name
       seal      and office the seal of
                   this twelfth day of February
                   one thousand eight hundred
