       The State of Maryland Prince Georges County sc.t

            I hereby certify that the bearer hereof a Black
       Woman by the name of Jane about forty one
       years old five feet three inches high having a
       scar on the back of her head extending down
       to the neck and a small one on the inside
       of her left arm who was raised in the county
       aforesaid in the family of the late Robert
       Waters is a free woman and obtained her freedom
       from the said Robert Waters by deed bearing
       date the the twenty seventh day of February
       seventeen hundred and ninety eight duly executed
       and acknowledged and Recorded in my office
   
               Given under my hand and seal of office
               this thirteenth day of August eighteen
               hundred and sixteen
