Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit: I hereby Certify to all whom it doth or may concern, that it hath been proved to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof a negro man named Matthew aged about twenty Eight years about five feet Eight Inches high, dark Complexion a small scar on the forehead and the second finger of the left hand a little crooked is one of the persons manumitted by Charles Drury by deed dated the third day of February Anno Domini seventeen hundred and ninety seven, that his freedom Commenced on the first day of January Eighteen hundred and sixteen, and that he was raised in the County aforesaid Issued the 8th day of march 1823 Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit I hereby Certify to all whom it doth or may Concern that it hath been proved to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof a negro man named John (calling himself John Johnson) aged about forty years about five feet Eight and a quarter Inches high black Complexion has a scar on the manumitted by Hester Hood and Elizabeth Hood by Deed dated the second day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and twenty two and that he was raised in the County aforesaid Issued the 17th day of March 1823 Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit I hereby certify to all whom it doth or may concern that it hath been proved to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof a negro woman named Sarah (calling herself Sarah Johnson) aged about thirty five years about five feet three Inches high black complexion has a scar upon the back of the right hand and another upon the end of the right thumb (is) |
