81 and discharged from all manner of service or servitude for ever In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this seventh day of October eighteen hundred and fifty three Witness Ann Bourke (seal) William F Bourke Rhetillah Bourke State of Maryland Anne Arundel County On this seventh day of October 1853 personally appeared before me the subscriber a Justice of the Peace of the state of Maryland in and for Anne Arundel County Ann E Bourke she being known to me to be the party named in the aforegoing deed of manumission and acknowledged the same to be her act and deed paid Wm Hawkins .62½ Recorded the 15th day of October 1853 Ex d d.d to W.m Hawkins To all whom it may concern be it Known that I John Ridout of the City of Annapolis Anne Arundel County Maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving as also in further consideration of five dollars current money to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from from slavery liberate manumit and set free my negro man named George Brown heretofore conveyed to me by bill of sale from Mrs Mary Bowie dated on the first day of April 1853 being of the age of years and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and him the said negro man named George Brown I do declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my executors or administrators forever. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affix my seal this nineteenth day of November in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and fifty three |
