    To Jesse K Hines Clerk of Circuit Court for Kent Co

    I hereby certify that a negro woman now present and
applying for a certificate of freedom named Rosa Ann
Rasin aged nineteen years was born free & raised in Kent
County
                                                          John Needles
July 15 1862      Rosa Ann is dark Brown complexion 4 ft
9 inches high with a scar on the right hand near or on the
lower knuckle of the fore finger

    And was accordingly recorded this 15 July 1862

    I hereby certify that a negro man now present and
applying for a certificate of freedom named John Wesley
Johnson was born free and raised in Kent County aged
about 21 years
    June 1/61                              James Lamb

John Wesley is 5 ft & 9¼ inches high and of a dark complexion
And was accordingly recorded   By

    To the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Kent County

I hereby certify that a negro man now present and
applying for a certificate of freedom named John Scott
is the identical negro mentioned in a Bill of Sale and
Deed of manumission which is recorded in Liber J.N.G
No 4 pages 165 & 166 from Benjn Dixon Sarah Dixon and
Francis Baker dated the 15.th day of April 1848 and is
now about 21 years old to be free after he arrives at the
age of 21 years which will be on the 12.th day of February
1861 according to the said Bill of Sale and Deed of
