This Indenture Made the Twenty Sixth day of March in the thirteenth year of y Dominion of the
Right honr:ble Charles absolute Lord & Proprietary of the Province of Maryland & Avalon Lord Baron
of Baltemore &c and in the year of or: Lord God one Thousand Six hundred Eighty Eight Betweene
Samuell Collins of Somr:Set County in the Province of Maryland Bricklayer & Margaret his wife of
the one part And Joseph Staten of the Said County & province plantr: of the other part Witnesseth
that the above named Samuell Collins and Margaret his wife for and in Consideracon Two ~
Thousand Three hundred & Twenty pounds of tobacco in hand paid before the ensealing & delivery
hereof whereof & wherewith the abovesaid Samuell Collins & Margaret his wife doe acknowledge
themselves to be fully & wholy Satisfied & paid & doe of & for every part & parcell thereof acquitt & discharge
the above named Joseph Staten his heires executors & administrators for Ever by these presents have
given granted bargained Sold enfeofed & Confirmed And doe by these presents absolutely give grant ~
allienate bargaine Sell enfeofe & Confirm unto the abovesaid Josep Staten and to his heires & assignes
for Ever all that parcell of Land Called y Line Lott Scituate Lieing & being on the east Side of Chesipeak
bay on the South Side of Pocomoke river bounded as ffolloweth beginning at the Said river where the
Divisionall Line between Maryland & Virginia Crosseth the Said River Thence with Line drawne
East with the divissional Line aforesaid one hundred Seaventy five perches to a parcel of land formrly
Surveyed for Robt Houston Devided from the Said Houstons Land by a Line of markt trees thence with a Line
Drawne Northwest with y Said Houstons Line one hundred thirty three perches to the above Said river
and from thence with a right Line to the first bounder Containing fifty acres more or Lesse being a (peece)
of Land formerly graunted unto the honble Wm:Stevens undr: the great Seale used in the said Province of
Maryland for granting of Lands there bearing date at y Citty of St: Maries the Nine & twentieth day of Septbr:
in the first year of Charles &c Annoq Dom: 1676 and by virtue of A Certain Deed of Indenture made by the above said
Collo: Wm: Stevens unto the abovesaid Saml: Collins bearing date the 10th: day of September Annoq Do: 1678
duely executed & enrolled he the Said Samll: Collins became possessed of the Said Land To have &
to hold the Said parcell of Land Called y Line Lott Together with all the buildings houses orchards fences
Rights Proffitts Priviledges writing Comodities & heriditaments to the Same belonging land or any part thereof
belonging or appertaining unto him the Said Joseph Staten & to his heires & assignes for Ever To y onely proper
use & behoofe & behoofe of y Said Joseph Staten his heires & assignes for Ever without any Mortage redemption
or Limitacon to recall after Charge or determine the Same To be holden of y Said Lord Propry: undr:Such rents
& Services Limittacons or exceptions as by the original Deed of grant for the Same is excepted & reserved
And the Said Samuell Collins & Margaret his wife the said land with y appurtenances before by these
presents bargained & Sold unto him the Said Joseph Staten Doe for Ever acquit & discharge the Same of & from all
formr: & other bargaines & Sales forfeitures Dowries Joyntures Surrenders & of and from all other Tytles ~ ~
incumbrances Claimes & demands of the Said Samuell Collins & his heires Executors administrators
or assignes and against all & every other person or persons whatsoever Lawfully Claiming from undr: or by
them or any of them the Said Samuell Collins will warrant & defend In Confirmacon & full assurance
of the Truth above written the Said Samuell Collins and Margaret his wife have to these presents Set
theire hands & fixed theire Seales giving Deed & State with full & peaceable possession of & in the above
mentioned premisses with the appurtenances thereunto belonging as the Said Samll: Collins & Margaret
his wife theire Subscriptions fixeing theire Seales & y witnesses Subscriptions as Testimoneys doe manifest
the day & year first above written /
