       Carroll and Acknowledged the within Deed or Instrument of Writing to be
       his Act and Deed and the Land and Premisses therein Mentioned to be the
       Right and Estate of the within Named Lloyd Buchanan his Heirs and Assigns
       for ever according to the Purport true Intent and Meaning of the same Deed
       and the Act of Assembly in such Case made and Provided      And then
       also Came before me Eliz.a Carroll the Wife of the aforesaid Charles Carroll and
       being by me privately examined a part from and out of the Hearing of her
       Said Husband did declare that She did by this acknowledgement release
       and did hereby intend to release all her Right and Title of Dower to the
       within Premisses and that She made this acknowledgement willingly
       and freely and without being induced thereto by Fears or Threats of or ill
       Usage by her Said Husband or fear of his Displeasure

       Penny half Penny Sterl for his Lordships Use (it being the Alienation
       fine on the within mentioned Land) by Virtue of a Commission from
       Edward Lloyd Esq.r his Lordships Agent and Receiver General
8 1/2 sides

Ex.d   This Indenture made the Sixth day of June in the Year of
       our Lord Seventeen hundred and fifty eight Between William
       Matthews of Ann Arundel County Planter of the one part and George Simmonds
       of Ann Arundel County Planter of the other part Witnesseth that the said
       William Matthews for and in Consideration of the Sum of five Shillings
       Sterling Money of Great Britain to him in hand paid by the said
       George Simmonds at or before the Sealing and Delivery of these presents
       the Receipt whereof is hereby Acknowledged He the Said William Matthews
       Hath bargained and Sold and by these Presents Doth bargain and
       Sell unto the Said George Simmonds All that Moiety or half Part
       of a Tract or Parcel of Land called Hopewell lying and being in
                                                                                        (Ann Arundel)
